Hi Ladies,
Welcome and Happy New Year!!
I know what you mean about having friends and having someone to talk to. We are home most of the time by ourself and then add in pain, not fun. I am here if you ever want to talk. I have found friends online and you have stopped at the right site.We do support each other. So many awesome groups at MomLogic ,sign up for them!! Its important because I don't want you to think you are alone in all of pain and saddness we all go through some days.
When I had my heart attack the Dr.'s asked what I do to connect with people and I told them MomLogic. I blog hop and its my way of "getting out"!!
They checked out the site and felt it was a great way to handle depression, saddness and get my mind off of the pain I am in everyday!!
It works for me and I hope it helps you!!
I stop in almost everyday.
It was great to "meet" you ladies!!

I have multiple sclerosis and joined ning.com because my friend has a network group for people living with MS and for family and friends. I decided to look around and I found momlogic and this group. I have a 2 almost 3 yr old girl and my husband is in the military. he deploys in less than a month so this will be interesting since i haven't reach a year of being diagnosed

Patty,
I have 3 children of my own and a grand daughter I have young onset Parkinson Disease. Over the years my children keep me going although the teen years can be at bit diffucult.. my oldest daughter is 22, my son is 20 my youngest daughter turns 13 tomorrow and I at times feel such remorse for not being able to parent my youngest daughter as I did with my oldest. I was a do it all Mom now I am a side line Mom. Regaurdless I love them equally.
As for friends a true friend is hard to find and when you are disabled they are a gift from God. My truest friend is my husband & I thank God for him everyday.

And Last is my Youngest, My BabyBoy though not so much a baby, Robert is 9. I have Asthma ( Bad ). Lupus and Fibromylgia. I also have Arthitis in My Hips and Legs. And Im often Depressed. Some days I dont want to get out the bed. I swear If I dident have my kids I would Not be here, They are my True Blessing, Sometimes The only Light I see at the end of that Painful Tunel. I feel blessed that Im a Mom. And Would LOVE to make some Friends who Understand what its like to not be able to do things we may want to do. And I need True friends, Im so tired of those Fake Friends that are only there when they need something Or they want to talk about something. I am in need of Friends, I swear I just feel so alone sometimes.... Anyways thats me. I hope to meet you all soon. Hugs and Blessings. Patty Mosso.

I have Young onset Parkinson Disease I have been disabled for 6 years and living with the disease for 8 years. My family is very supportive and I know that they worry when I am home alone. I am very independent and when my meds are "on" not many people can tell I have PD. When my meds are "off" I can stop right in my tracks not be able to move.It has become increasingly dificult to parent my 12 year old daughter.

I've been on disability for bipolar/anxiety disorder since 1994....I had a wonderful career going until this crippling disease hit me!!! No matter how I try to pretend I am normal I know that a majority of people just don't "understand". I have finally accepted that I will probably have to take meds the rest of my life! And now I have fibromyalgia and migraines (bad ones!) ~ could it be side effects of my many meds...who knows??? I would probably not be alive if it weren't for having my 10 yr old daughter (can you imagine when I found out at 38 years old and on "gobs" of meds AND ready to and I did before my daughter was born, divorce her father....who of course now has not contacted her in years and has not paid any child support for over 2 years. Wow that makes it tough on us! I definately have to live one day at a time because I never know when I'm so depressed I just want to die or I'll get up at 3 in the morning and be manic most of the day.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday, December 3.

The Accessibility Centre will host an open house to highlight the City’s accomplishments concerning disability issues and initiatives. Residents are encouraged to provide input.

Staff and members of the Accessibility Advisory Committee will also be available to discuss the new Accessible Customer Service Standard of Ontario.

The goal of the open house is to increase awareness of disability issues and to celebrate and recognize the contributions of people with disabilities in Sault Ste. Marie.
