Carla Williams is a writer, speaker, and mentor, considers herself a "professional mom," but many call her their "spiritual mom." She writes and speaks to women on spiritual formation in their lives and their families. Carla and her husband, Timothy, of 35 years live and minister in Washington State. Their two grown sons and their families live nearby and work alongside them in their ministry and in the publishing business. She'll share "Carla's Corner" every Wednesday.

I wanted to share an awesome praise tonight. I live in MN and it gets a bit cold here in the winter. Well, our furnace went out on Saturday morning. Always a weekend, eh? Well, thankfully, it was sunny here over the weekend and we have baseboard heaters in the basement and put 2 small space heaters on the main floor. We have a split house.
The plumber came and said he could order parts on Monday and it would be covered under warranty. Well, we were going through an organization that helps people with their energy in the winter. They said the guy who came over on Saturday wasn't part of the program, but he could apply, but in the meantime they'd send someone else out. The guy that had come Saturday had been super nice, plus was referred by a good friend. So, yesterday and today we've been trying to get them to get in touch with Dave. He & I talked today at lunch and he said his wife was already picking up the part, but was really frustrated by how he & I were both being pretty well ignored.
He said he was coming over tonight wether they got in touch with him or not and he didn't care whether or not he got paid!! Can you believe that? Who ever says that? So, he and I never heard from them and he sure enough showed up at 5:30. He installed it and we have a house full of heat!! He said he'd been thinking about doing this kind of stuff for a while, helping people. What a blessing. I told him if he never heard back from the group, to send me the bill and we'd get it paid.
I am so thankful for God's provision in these unexpected ways!!

What a joy it is to know that so many people work in these orphanages and work to take care of all of these kids. Pray for all of these orphans and all of those that need us, during this challenging time in Haiti.
